Spotlight on a Member: Birthright Kāpiti

Located in lively Rimu Road just along from Coastlands in Paraparaumu, you will find the Birthright Kāpiti opportunity shop, where a team of energetic volunteers offer shoppers an amazing array of goods including men’s and women’s clothing, children’s clothes and toys, and furniture and other items for the home.

Proceeds from the store go towards funding the fantastic mahi that Birthright Kāpiti‘s small team of social workers do to support one parent families with at least one child under 16 years living in the Paraparaumu – Waikanae area who choose to be part of their service.

As part of the Birthright New Zealand network, Birthright Kāpiti has been working with local families for over 30 years, helping to nurture resilient and inspired tamariki and whānau. All Birthright ’s services are delivered free to recipients.

Birthright Kāpiti is currently offering some exciting volunteer opportunities for those with trustee board experience to be part of their winning team. If you have the relevant skills and some time available, applications are currently being considered for the Treasurer and Board Secretary roles.

They also have a short-term volunteering opportunity for a Job Description Advisor, a role ideally suited to someone with an HR or recruiting background who would like to share their knowledge and expertise to help this flourishing community organisation.
