Graphic Design Volunteer

Greater Wellington Neighbourhood Support are looking for a creative volunteer to help turn simple text into engaging, accessible, beautifully branded “playing cards” designed to help senior adults learn basic technology skills — think “How to Send a Text” or “How to Email”.

These cards will be used in our Tea & Tech sessions, supporting seniors to build confidence with technology. We also hope to share them with other communities around Aotearoa, so your designs could make a nationwide impact! The project tasks include:

  • Transform supplied text into visually appealing, easy-to-read card designs
  • Use our colour palette and branding to create a cohesive set
  • Add your creative touch to make each card clear, friendly, and special
  • Deliver several designed cards as part of this one-off project

Your creativity will directly support older people in our community to feel more connected and confident with technology, a small project with a big impact! If you love design and want to use your skills for good, we’d love to hear from you!

Requirements:
  • Someone who’s much better at design than we are!
  • Confident using Canva or experienced as a graphic designer
  • Able to bring creativity, accessibility, and great layout skills
  • Happy to work independently with clear direction and provided content
Time commitment:

Flexible, fit it in around your schedule. Final designs ideally completed by late January

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
