Nga Manu Kids Party Host

Host kids’ birthday parties at Nga Manu! In this role you will look after groups of up to 10 kids aged 3 to 10 years, hosting fun activities including: taking the kids on a guided walk in the reserve and give the party a fun nature based focus.

  1. To meet and greet kids and their caregivers/parent, give a brief overview of the entertainment and activities during the two hours of the party, take kids on a guided Lil Explorers activity, and direct guests to an eel feed.
  2. Kids birthday parties are usually at weekends either during morning (10 – midday) or afternoon (2 til 4pm).
  3. Safety of the guests is paramount.
  4. To undertake other duties relevant to the role as required.
Requirements:

Skills, experience and qualities required for this role:
• Great, fun personality to engage with a range of age groups, particularly 3- to 10-year-olds
• Effective oral communication skills to tell kids stories related to the Nga Manu ngahere, and fauna.
• An interest in the work of Ngā Manu and conservation.

As this role works unsupervised with children a police check is required.
Necessary training will be given.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Usually weekends for two to two and a half hours at a time with parties by booking and scheduled 10am - midday, and/or 2 to 4pm.
