Love kids, nature, and fun? Join us as a Birthday Party Host and help make magical memories for tamariki celebrating their special day surrounded by native wildlife!

As a Party Host, you’ll bring energy, laughter, and curiosity to every celebration, guiding groups of up to 20 children (aged up to 10 years old) through awesome nature-themed adventures at our beautiful nature reserve in Waikanae. In this role you will:

  • Welcome excited kids and their whānau, and set the scene for a fun-filled two hours!
  • Lead the group on a Lil Explorers guided walk through the reserve, sparking their wonder for Aotearoa’s amazing wildlife.
  • Join in the fun as you help direct guests to the popular eel feeding session and other nature-based activities.
  • Keep everyone safe and smiling throughout the party.
  • Help out with any other bits and pieces that make the day extra special.

Requirements:

Skills, experience and qualities required for this role:
• Great, fun personality to engage with kids up to 10 years old
• Effective oral communication skills to tell kids stories related to the Nga Manu ngahere, and fauna.
• An interest in the work of Ngā Manu and conservation.

As this role works unsupervised with children a police check is required.
Necessary training will be given.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Usually weekends for two to two and a half hours at a time with parties by booking and scheduled 10am - midday, and/or 2 to 4pm.
