The Waikanae Estuary Care Group are voluntary conservation organisation who manage the Waikanae Estuary Scientific reserve on behalf of DOC. They are looking for gardening help with weed management, site clearance and nursery activities. They have a nursery morning every Thursday and various weekdays doing weed releasing and weed-eating. There are also weekend working bees, planting in winter and weeding at other times

Requirements:

An interest in conservation and ideally some previous gardening experience. Training on weed releasing and using machinery will be provided where applicable.

Time commitment:

Various days during the week and weekend available. Approx 2 to 4 hours per week.
