Support Birthright Kāpiti to fulfil its mission of helping those parenting alone to make confident choices about their family’s future. Birthright Kāpiti are looking for Board Members who can represent the community they support (from Paekākāriki to Peka Peka), and to work with the Board team to contribute to the governance and long-term planning of the organisation. As a Board Member you will help refine and develop the organisation’s strategic plan and long-term goals, participate in board meetings, providing input, and making decisions on key organisational issues and provide advice and guidance based on your experience and understanding of the community.

• Passion for supporting those parenting alone and their whanau.
• Understanding of nonprofit governance and the social services Birthright Kāpiti provide
• Ideally a good reputation within, or relationship with the Kāpiti community
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Marketing experience would be a bonus, but not essential
Board Meetings are held on a Monday the evening every 2 months. The meetings are held in the Birthright Kāpiti office which is up a flight of stairs but there is potential to Zoom into meetings if the meeting room is not accessible to you.
