Are you passionate about New Zealand native wildlife? Do you enjoy being part of a team, love being immersed in nature and want to make a difference to your community? We are looking for volunteers to be a core part of the animal husbandry team, specialising in the rearing and production of insects for the consumption of animals. The role entails maintaining cultures, ensuring the insects are well looked after to provide top quality food for the larger species.

Our volunteers are a vital part of Ngā Manu and we would love your support. We welcome volunteers from all walks of life, and have different roles depending on your skills, experience, availability and fitness.

Requirements:

Volunteers should have good observation skills and be able to follow instructions. You must be over 15 years old to apply and acceptance is dependent on a satisfactory police check.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Shifts available daily (approx 1 to 2 hours per shift).
