We're looking for a volunteer workshop superstar. Our VIP's have mild dementia and need a little bit of help in the workshop as they create all sorts of fun stuff. If being in a workshop is your happy place and you're confident and capable of guiding others - give Ruthie a call. We need help on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Half days are an option. The program will provide you with rewarding interactions with beautiful people, refreshment breaks and lunch.
Respectful and supportive. Recognise when someone needs assistance and when to step back and let them be independent. Have some wood-work experience. Emotionally, physically and mentally resilient. Positive and friendly. Practical, supportive Ability to work within the routines of the home.
Non-judgmental attitude to others. Previous exposure to people with Dementia would be helpful, but is not a necessity. Ideally you can commit to the role for at least 6 months.
