Board Member

We are looking for a new member to join our Board team which provides governance support to our Creative Wellbeing Centre in Raumati Beach. We offer a range of free creative and educational workshops from our Centre along with outreach programmes. Our classes promote positive mental health in our community and our programme provides a safe place for people going through tough times needing support and social connection.

Empathy or understanding of the challenges people face trying to seek support for their emotional/mental wellbeing, Team Player, Solutions Focused, Hard Working

Skills (some of the following)
Policy review, Health and Safety, Stakeholder engagement, Finance/budgeting, Strategic Planning, Advocacy, Local /or National Funding Initiatives/Requirements, Legal work, Communications, Zoom, Dropbox.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Monthly Board Meeting 1.5hr, at the Centre (Zoom option available).
2-3 hours per month preparing for or responding to actions arising from meetings.
About 3 – 4 days per year at working bees, training, AGM or other activities involving the community, members and the Board.
Sometimes ad hoc tasks or initiatives could involve additional time.
