Volunteer Kāpiti is offering member organisations a free storytelling service, and we'd love to work with you.
Our Volunteer Story Writer can sit down with you, by phone, video, or kanohi ki te kanohi (face-to-face), and help capture what makes your mahi worth telling. Whether that's the big picture of why your organisation exists, a specific programme you'd like more people to know about, or the voice of one of your own volunteers, we'll shape it into a clear, engaging story (up to 1500 words) and hand it back to you to use however suits you. Your story is yours to share first, and where we can, we'll also look for opportunities to celebrate it across our own platforms.
Why it's worth your time
A well-told story doesn't just sit on a page, it works for you. Once your story is captured across our three levels (the Big Why behind your organisation, your programmes and projects, and the voices of your volunteers), you can draw on it wherever you need to tell your story well:
- Report writing and board papers
- Newsletters and social media
- Media articles and press coverage
- Funding applications, so funders can see the real impact behind the numbers
- Giving your fundraising team the words to talk confidently about the beautiful work you do
Put simply, it helps your organisation become more visible, more findable, and more fundable, without you having to find the time to write it all yourself.
There's no cost, and no obligation. You choose whether to take part, what your story focuses on, and how it's used once it's finished.
