The volunteer team at Ngā Manu Nature Reserve have a range of skills and perform numerous tasks. We have teams who weed the gardens, are sentinel's ensuring our native birds are kept safe from predators, look after all the visitors to the Reserve at the counter, provide guided experiences, care for the daily needs of our captive species, maintain our Theo's Cottage accomodation, propagate new plants, maintain the buildings and structures around the Reserve - our volunteers do it all!

Our Board of Trustees are made up of volunteers also, with diverse skills that help Ngā Manu forge ahead, keeping the dream of founder Peter McKenzie alive."

Our volunteers give their time without thought of reward. They do it for the love of Ngā Manu and the kaupapa that Ngā Manu stands for. They're always happy to 'pitch in' where needed willingly, without hesitation.
