If you're a manager in the not-for-profit space, we know you’re often so focused on supporting others that your own professional growth and wellbeing can take a back seat. Sound familiar? We’re excited to invite you to be part of something new:
Haumi – Gatherings for Good
A new bi-monthly meetup for social and community sector leaders across Paekākāriki and Ōtaki.
Launching Thursday 21 August 2025, this series is a space designed to help you refill your cup, strengthen leadership skills, and build authentic connections across our sector.
What’s this all about?
Volunteer Kāpiti has been running a mentoring programme for managers and governors over the past few years. From this, we’ve seen the ongoing need for a dedicated space where operational managers can continue to learn, reflect, and support one another.
Haumi (to join, connect, ally) comes from te ao Māori and speaks to the kaupapa behind this series, gathering with purpose, supporting one another, and growing stronger together.
How will it work?
• Frequency: Every two months
• Duration: 60–90 minutes per session

Each session will include:
• Check-in: Share “what’s on top” for you right now
• Peer Support: Celebrate wins and unpack the challenges
• Development Focus: We'll co-design the themes together
Every second session will feature a guest speaker, chosen to bring real insights and tools to support your mahi.
