Enjoy physical labour, and being out in the fields? We are looking for physically fit and able people to join our Second Harvest team. Activities are seasonal.
Currently looking for individuals and teams (up to 15 people) to help us pick cabbages during October in Palmerston North. Travel from Paraparaumu available.
Dates: Tuesday 6th, 13th October, Thursday 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th October
Cabbage picking This job is physical, picking the cabbages directly from the field, carrying them in crates and loading them in the truck. So entails a good level of fitness, bending, lifting 15kg, walking on uneven ground.
Able to follow instructions
Complete health and safety site induction on the day
Conversation with Alex (Volunteer Programme Manager) needed before being assigned to the team.
Current Cabbage picking activity - 9am - 3pm, leaving from Paraparaumu.
You can join for one session only, or more than one session.
Other seasonal activities will vary in time
