Ōtaki Bike Space Volunteer Coordinator

Energise Ōtaki is powered by a vision of living in a town where there's enough good energy for everyone. They revamp donated bikes and give them away to community to enable people to have access to sustainable transport, reducing local emissions, and saving energy.

We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator who will be responsible for setting an annual calendar of event dates for both our bike space repair days and giveaways. Before each session the coordinator contacts bike fixers, supporters, and sponsors with updates and reminders about events coming up and thank you messages after each event.

A large part of this role is looking after our volunteer Bike Fixers, ensuring a stock of bikes ready to be fixed (this includes at times collection of donated bikes) maintaining a good supply of parts, and arranging lunch during our working bee sessions. The Coordinator also liaises with both people wanting to donate bikes as well as those who are in need of a bike.

Collaboration with Energise Ōtaki Trustees and other project leaders is crucial. The volunteer bike space coordinator is responsible for putting together an annual budget and providing regular updates, project milestones, and statistics to Trustees, supporters, and funders.

If you want to make a positive impact on the local community and gain valuable experience in event coordination, volunteer management, and community outreach, we would love to hear from you.
