Waitohu Stream and Dune Care Group are seeking a Communications and Publicity Volunteer to develop and implement a communications and publicity strategy. This includes encouraging participation from new members and educating the public in relation to protection and the environmental amenities of the area. Use your communications and marketing skills to be part of this team of volunteers who love nature and work together to care for 8 hectares of the Waitohu Stream estuary and dune system at the north end of Ōtaki Beach.
The role will involve planning with the committee to increase participation and developing the education and communications material (pamphlets, signs, newsletters, facebook, etc).
A background and purpose of the group will be provided, introductions to the membership, a tour of the area and introduction to the work. The group has morning tea every week after the physical working session and this is regarded as an important communication and valuing session for the volunteers. Attendance is never compulsory, but very much welcomed!
Flexible, 1 to 4 hours per week. Can be mostly done from home but you need to be able to visit the stream near Ōtaki Beach when required
