Trade Aid Kāpiti are looking for volunteers to help sort and price incoming stock for their shop in Coastlands. Trade Aid shops are closing down nationwide and the Kāpiti store is one of 7 that is remaining open for the next couple of months to help sell as much of the fair trade products as possible.
They are receiving pallets of goods most weeks (sometimes 2 times a week!) and expect this to increase a bit as they keep the stock as high as possible. They are looking for people who can:
• Work accurately to stick price labels onto our products. Attention to detail is important.
• Enjoy handling the beautiful fair trade products.
• The job is done in Coastlands in a separate room from the shop.
In return you will get:
• First dibs on the stock that comes in!
• 10% discount on food items (the other items are already on 40 - 70%)
• A nice place to process stock - it's quiet and carpeted
• The opportunity to work with other like minded people to get the job done
• A sense of satisfaction when you see the product go from pallets to being displayed in the shop.
• Join our whatsapp group (that's where the communication happens)
• Able to work alone or with another person.
A short-term role for approx 4 weeks (between now and the end of January). Respond to requests to come and help out - it is totally up to you how often or how long they stay, some people do 1 hour, some do several, it's up to the person.
Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below.
We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
