Do you know how to use a smartphone, tablet, or laptop for everyday tasks like sending messages, using apps, or browsing the internet? Do you have a patient ear and a heart for helping others? Then you already have the most important skills needed to be a Digital Seniors Tech Coach!
We believe in “Trusted Faces in Trusted Places.” Our volunteers make libraries feel safe and welcoming for seniors to ask questions, share frustrations, and get the support they need to use technology confidently.
You don’t need to be a tech whiz — if you can use your own phone, listen with kindness, and help someone learn at their own pace, you’re exactly who we need. Our team will guide you through everything you need to know.
As a volunteer, you'll offer 1-on-1 help to seniors at our friendly Digital Seniors Hubs in Waikanae, Paraparaumu and Paekakariki Libraries. Whether it's helping someone learn to send a photo, open an email, or access online banking — your presence alone can turn confusion into confidence.
We provide a Volunteer Handbook, ongoing support from our Service Lead, and the chance to make a real difference in someone’s day.
We know life is busy, so we’ve made volunteering flexible. Volunteers are given access to our Digital Seniors Electronic Roster, where you can choose which sessions work best for you, week by week.
