Ongoing or Summer Casual Volunteer Roles available - adults and young people/rangatahi over 16 years encouraged to apply

Do you have a passion for reducing food poverty and waste in our Community? Join us in our Kaibosh Kitchen! Help to prep and cook kai from rescued food, which we then distribute to our community partners who are supporting whānau experiencing food insecurity. You will be working in teams of 2-4 people prepping and chopping vegetables and fruit, checking through the second-sort boxes of rescued food, helping with cooking, baking and cleaning.

Requirements:
  • Collaborative, friendly people, able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and a reasonable level of fitness.
  • Cooking skills a plus but not required.
  • Aged 16 years old or over.
  • All volunteers need to complete our Health and Safety Site Induction before starting volunteer shifts.
Time commitment:
  • 1-2 volunteer shifts per fortnight or per week, depending on your availability/preference.

  • Volunteer shifts currently run: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 9-11am (approx end time). We are looking for immediate support on Thursday and Friday mornings.

  • Group Health and Safety Site Induction: Thursday 20th November, 9-11am. Please apply through the Volaby application link, and sign up to a group induction. (N.B. we will hold more inductions in the new year)
