Cancer Society Gardeners

Help keep the Cancer Society Kāpiti gardens looking beautiful. We have a beautiful garden that is a sanctuary for patients, volunteers and staff but we need to maintain it. Maybe you have some cuttings or plants you’d like to donate? Maybe you like pruning? Maybe you even like weeding? Maybe growing veges for the community is something you’d like to support? We receive a community board grant every year to help improve our garden. Last year we have purchased dwarf fruit trees, loads of vege seeds, potting mix and some annuals and perennials. We grow natives, herbs, flowers and are trying to improve our fruit and vege production so we have something extra to offer patients and visitors. Any excess produce gets donated to the foodbank.

There are plenty of ways for people who like the outdoors to get involved. We’d love you pop in and we can show you around our garden. Most people are surprised that it's such a peaceful space just off Kapiti Road.
