Visitor Host - Otaki

Are you interested in bringing local history to life? Not sure where to start? We are looking for volunteers to join the Visitor Host Team at Otaki Museum. In this role you will warmly welcome visitors to the museum, help enrich their visit and keep a record of number of visitors for that shift.
Initial training will be provided with on-going support as required. You will be rostered on with another Visitor Host, so there will always be two volunteers on a shift together.

Requirements:

An interest in the museums activities and the local history of Ōtaki and its people, but you don't need to be expert (you will learn a lot along the way). Good communication skills.
Warm and friendly manner.
Enjoys interacting with a wide variety of people.

Time commitment:

2 hours per month (or more if preferable). Museum is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday and available shifts are 10am - noon or noon- 2pm during exhibitions.
