Meals on Wheels Driver

We are looking for more volunteers to join this friendly team of drivers, delivering meals to people's homes where their circumstances make it difficult for them to prepare their own meals. Currently they have a need for drivers in the Raumati and Paraparaumu areas. In this role you will be delivering meals to private residences, you must have your own vehicle and have a current driver license. You must have the ability to work as part of team, take direction and work with minimum supervision. Meals are delivered Monday-Friday; however volunteers can choose which days they are available to volunteer. Meal pick-up time is 10.45 – 11.00 am Monday to Friday.
On job training will be given.

Requirements:

Full Drivers license, empathetic, commonsense.
Friendly, like helping elderly and disabled people
Police Vetting
You'll need to follow our Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies and procedures, which will be advised during training. You can also find more information on this on our tools and guidance for volunteers' page.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Shifts available Monday to Friday (you can choose the best day for you to volunteer). Meals arrive at the depot in Paraparaumu at approx 10.45am and delivery runs take approx 1 hour to complete. Generally you will be asked to volunteer once a week, however this is flexible (can be every 2 weeks).
