This year we have been piloting Organisational Capability Volunteering, matching the needs of community organisations and professional volunteer skill sets as part of the Capable Sector Project. The skills bank captures volunteers interested in offering specific skills for one-off projects to help build capability for Kāpiti community organisations.
Many small community organisations have a small number of staff and/or don’t have sufficient resource or competency to cover all of their professional needs. Volunteers may wish to use their professional skills to support community organisations and help build staff capability. Such skill sets might include marketing, strategic planning, finances, communications/social media, digital services and IT, organisational health audit, human resources, policy development, data analytics or project management.
For potential volunteers – the skills bank is a way they can share their expertise to help make a difference in Kāpiti. More information and how to register here
For community groups – if a match is found, we can connect you to with a volunteer to get skilled help for a one-off project for your organisation. Contact us to learn more.
We are continuing to build and develop the skills bank database to be a valuable resource for everyone.
The Capable Sector Project is a collaboration between Volunteer Kāpiti and Kāpiti Impact Trust -contributing towards a thriving community sector.
