Kāpiti Women’s Centre

A rainbow over the Kāpiti Women’s Centre, captured by one of our Volunteer Centre Workers. A good omen for the future as we welcome in eleven new Volunteer Centre Workers this year.

Having completed an eight- week training course, they are now taking up their duties at front of desk supporting women coming into the Centre and offering them the many facilities Kāpiti Women’s Centre provides. These include free counselling, reasonably priced courses, access to clothing for women and their children and membership of the Kāpiti Women’s Centre library.

Our Volunteer Centre Workers are the first face people see at our drop-in centre, they help our visitors feel comfortable and at ease, and their involvement and commitment ensures the Kāpiti Women’s Centre can continue to provide these services.

Kāpiti Women's Centre entered our Volunteer Story Competition as part of National Volunteer Week. They ended up winning the draw for a $300 cafe voucher to recognise and celebrate their volunteers.
