Volunteer Day Unit Support

• Helping patients feel welcome
• Spending time listening and interacting with group members
• Assist with various activities, including creative activities and games etc.
• Assist with morning tea and lunch set-ups and clearing
• Support patients with comfort needs, mobilising as required
• Assist in preparation and tidying up after activities
• Assist to set up the physical space e.g. arranging furniture and tidying the day room at the end of the session
• From time to time there maybe general duties i.e. preparation or sorting of materials for activities


• Have a warm personality and able to have an immediate connection with people
• Sensitive to the needs of others and able to seek help as needed
• Be aware how much support to give without impacting on patient’s independence
• Interest in creative activities to assist patients
• Remains calm in tense or pressured situations
• Dependable, diligent and high level of integrity
• Sense of fun
• Volunteers must be fully vaccinated for Covid19 (including booster)

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Approximately 9.15 am to 2.15 pm fortnightly on Tuesday
