Do you enjoy supporting people to take part in activities that are important to them? We are looking for compassionate individuals to assist this organisations day visitors (people with mild cognitive decline) to take part in activities that are important to them. Home4All is a community project where people can enjoy their time with at this home-based centre, feel supported and respected and have a meaningful day. Our visitors have some short-term memory loss but there skills are ok. We will function as a family, together we make our own coffee, cakes, lunches and some light housekeeping.
Possibilities to do gardening, wood-working or make art, all depending on the abilities and interests of our day visitors. As an Activities Buddy, you can assist the visitor with any aspect of their day. You may have skills in the kitchen, garden or workshop that you can utilise to help the visitors independently as possible achieve their goals for the day.
Respectful and supportive. Recognise when someone needs assistance and when to step back and let them be independent. Have some skills in either the kitchen, art, woodwork or garden. Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Morning or Afternoon sessions available (or choose a full day 9am to 5pm) on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
