Governance Board Member

Do you have a passion for improving the lives of women in the Kāpiti Community? Our governance group specifically seeks new members with an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Kaupapa Māori services to oversee our Centre. New members with strong connections to Pacific communities in the Kapiti region are also being sought. In this role you will be asked to:

  • attend a HUB meeting at least once a month
  • Contribute to supporting the Centre Manager with a range of activities including: strategic planning; health and safety; legal and financial matters; employment of both paid and unpaid staff; policy and procedures
  • Working with the Centre Manager in the overall planning for the Centre’s continuing work and development
  • Participate in Centre activities such as the annual Hui, various fundraising and social evenings.

Whether you are new to governance, keen to gain some governance experience, or experienced in governance, finance, or employment AND you agree with the kaupapa of women supporting women, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements:

If you are a woman with any of the following skills we would love to hear from you:
• Treasurer experience
• Business and service development
• Understanding of community service providing and government contracting
• Strategic HR and people leadership
• Competency with digital tools

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Approx 16 hours/month
