Foodbank Packing Helpers

Help out your local Foodbank in a fun and practical way! The Kāpiti Rotary Clubs are running their annual Foodbank Collection on Saturday 28th May and we are looking for helpers to unpack, sort and re-package the donated food once it gets delivered to the sorting site at Coast Community Church in Paraparaumu. If you can spare a few hours on Saturday 28th we would love to hear from you! This collection will help restock the Kāpiti Foodbank shelves for the busy winter months!

We are also looking for 2 to 3 people that can help on Monday 30th between 9am and 11am to sort and pack any leftover items.

Please wear comfortable closed shoes as you will be standing (NO OPEN TOED shoes for health & safety reasons) and water bottles are recommended. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

Requirements:

Able to work on your feet for 2 to 3 hours. Lift boxes of food (these are not too heavy maximum 30 cans).
Older children welcome but must be actively supervised by an accompanying adult.

Time commitment:

Shifts available: Saturday 28th May 10am to 5pm, ideally you can help out for 2 to 3 hours. The need for volunteers is greater in the afternoon as that is when the majority of the food is delivered.
Shift also available on Monday 30th May 9am to 11am to finish off any unpacked items.
Please indicate your availability in the "Other Information" box below.
