You will be helping the attendees to participate in group sessions. Sometimes that may involve sitting beside someone to assist with communication.
The role involves greeting the group members, helping to set up before sessions and clean up after. Tea and coffee making skills are a must!
Creativity and a sense of humour are really important as the sessions are about keeping the brain active for people with dementia and having fun.
Training will be provided.
Reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed. Expenses must be agreed upon prior to any purchase.


Great interpersonal skills.
Must be able to lift and stack chairs. Also vacuum if necessary.
Experience with dementia is not essential as you will be supported by the facilitator.
You will be patient, empathetic and able to recognise when someone needs support.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9.30-12 noon for 14 weeks, starting 11 May 2021.
Then once weekly for a further 25 weeks.
